Thousands gather in Wuhan to celebrate New Year 2021 (Photos)

What once was the epicenter for the COVID-19 epicentre, Wuhan has celebrated the dawn of the 2021 with large crowds taking the festivities to the streets.

Released photos of the celebrations show citizens of the Chinese city wearing face masks, however, not maintaining the social distance as regulated by many health authorities.

As per the traditions, Wuhan citizens released balloons into the air at Hankow Customs House building.

However, the police were reportedly trying to control the crowds and urging those who did not wear face masks to wear the masks.

Meanwhile, some countries as France and Spain imposed curfew in view of New Year celebrations.
