RATs at WP exit points to continue till Jan
Police Media Spokesperson Deputy Inspector General of Police Ajith Rohana stated that persons who exit the Western Province will be subjected to Rapid Antigen Testing (RATs) until 05 January 2021.
Currently, RATS are conducted at 11 exit points from the Western Province. While 8,000 persons were tested for the virus, 49 persons were identified as COVID patients.
Speaking further, DIG Ajith Rohana stated that public cooperation is necessary to continue the programme of conducting RATs. He further added that if a person is identified to be a COVID patient, the patient and their close contacts would be directed to treatment centres.
