Decision to proceed tomorrow - the case against university cut off marks under 2019 A/L
An order will be issued tomorrow on whether to proceed with the hearing of fundamental rights petitions filed seeking an interim injunction suspending the admission of students to engineering and physics faculties in accordance with the university cut-off marks issued by the University Grants Commission.
The case was taken up for the third day yesterday (21) before a three-judge bench of the Supreme Court comprising Justices Buwaneka Aluvihare, S. Thurairajah and Yasantha Kodagoda.
Our court correspondent stated that the submission of the petitioners and the respondents were completed.
The petition was filed by forty two students who sat for the GCE Advanced Level examination in 2019 under the new syllabus.
