Family isolated after being struck by betel spit from Covid infected woman
A family of three has been placed in isolation after being struck by betel spit from a Covid infected person in Balangoda.
According to the NewsCentre, the family were travelling on a motorcycle parallel to a bus that was transporting Covid infected persons to the treatment center in Samanalawewa, Balangoda on Saturday when the incident occurred.
A Covid infected woman from Balangoda is reported to have spat betel from the window of the bus which had splattered on the family on the motorcycle.
The motorcyclist who is a driver attached to the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) had thereafter filed a complaint with the Police via the emergency hotline 119.
The man and his family were instructed to immediately self-isolate, while his motorcycle was sanitized by health authorities
