Mahaweli officials state that three sluice gates of the Ibbankatuwa Reservoir in Dambulla were opened today (21) due to the recent heavy rains.
They further stated that 2460 cubic feet of water per second will be released into the Kala Wewa from the reservoir.
Due to the above, the people on either side of the Dambulla Oya which carries water to the Kala Wewa through the Ibbankatuwa Reservoir are advised to be vigilant.
