People asked to adhere to health regulations during the coming weeks
The Police have requested the general public to adhere to the health regulations issued by the Direct-General of Health services to curb the spread of COVID-19.
“The spread of the virus can be tackled by limiting mobility,” Police Media Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana said.
The Police Media Spokesperson requested the general public to obey quarantine regulations during this week and the next.
The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country has risen to 35,387 after 650 more cases were identified on Thursday (17th Dec).
According to the Department of Government Information, these cases were identified through the Peliyagoda and Prison clusters.
The Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health said, 8874 people are currently receiving treatment in hospitals.
728 more covid-19 cases completely recovered and were discharged from hospital taking the total number of recovered cases in the island to 26,353.
160 people have died due to covid – 19 in the country.
