Effort to raise rubber production in Ratnapura
An effort is under way in Ratnapura to double production in rubber plantations with an annual harvest of less than 1,000 kgs per hectare.
The Rubber Development Department says 570 hectares have already been earmarked for the programme.
They include 180 hectares of abandoned rubber plantations.
