58,000 expected to return to Sri Lanka
Tourism Ministry stated that in the future tourists will be brought to Sri Lanka in accordance with the health guidelines , while the Sri Lankans stranded overseas will continue to be repatriated.
The Ministry stated that since 10 March until 30 November 45,509 Sri Lankan were repatriated, while another 58,892 Sri Lankans have registered with foreign embassies with the hope of returning to the country.
The Ministry also points out that more than 30,000 of those brought back were foreign workers.
