Cyclone Burevi kills seven in Tamil Nadu (video)
Many villages in Tamil Nadu, South India remain flooded from the impact of cyclone Burevi which brought heavy rains for a second day.
Rameswaran and Ramanathapuram districts are without a power supply.
The death toll from inclement weather so far stands at seven.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka’s Department of Meteorology says the influence of this depression to the island is expected to reduce gradually.
It forecasts showers or thundershowers in the Northern, North-western and Western provinces and in the Anuradhapura and Trincomalee districts.
Heavy rainfalls of about 100 mm can be expected at some places in the Northern and North-western provinces and in the Anuradhapura district.
Showers can be expected at several places in the Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts.
