Burevi's impact over land areas to lessen
The Meteorology Department stated that cyclone 'Burevi' is still moving away from the island and its impact over the land areas is expected to lessen.
The Department said this while issuing a final risk statement regarding the cyclone.
Accordingly, fishermen in the deep and shallow waters from Colombo to Trincomalee via Puttalam and Kankesanthurai were advised not to engage in further fishing and naval activities until tomorrow (04) morning.
The Department also warns fishermen to be careful while fishing and naval activities in other sea areas.
The Disaster Management Center stated that one person has gone missing and four others have been injured due to cyclone Burevi.
