Parliament to convene for first time today for 2021

The first Parliament session for 2021 is set to convene today (05) following the decision taken by the Committee on Parliamentary Business.

The Parliament will convene at 10:00 a.m. and will conduct its proceedings until 04:30 p.m.

The Motion at the Adjournment Time by the Government will be taken up from 04:30 p.m. to 05:30 p.m. today (05).

Four Bills including Amendments to the Shop and Office Employees Act will be taken up today (05)

Meanwhile, the Committee on Parliamentary Business which was chaired by MP Angajan Ramanathan has decided to allow media to enter the Parliament premises for the purpose of covering Parliamentary proceedings.

Accordingly, journalists will be allowed to enter the Parliament premises subjected to the guidelines set out in accordance with the COVID-19 health regulations.
