'Burevi' located between Mannar & Pooneryn, moves away from the island
The Meteorology Department stated that The cyclonic storm ‘BUREVI’ is now located closer to coastal area in between Mannar and
Pooneryn and it is gradually moving away from the island.
The cyclonic storm with a wind speed of 70-80 kmph can be increased up to 90 kmph at times.
Thundershowers will develop at several places in the North, North Central and North Western provinces and in some places showers between 100 and 150 mm are expected, the Department said.
The effect of this storm will continue tomorrow (04) and on 05 December, and as a result, the sea areas around the island may become rougher.
