Covid Summary 30 Nov - Over 500 test positive with deaths from Kandy and Kalutara
Sri Lanka Covid case load is nearing 24,000 with another 503 persons identified with the Covid -19 infection yesterday.
This was the fourth time during the month that more than 500 cases were reported.
Two deaths were also reported yesterday taking the death toll to 118.
The two deaths were reported from Galaha and Atalugama according to the statement of Director General of Health Services. The details given are as follows;
01. The deceased was a 72 year old male resided in Galaha. He died on admission to the Teaching Hospital, Peradeniya on 27.11.2020. The cause of death was High Blood Pressure, Diabetes and a heart attack caused by the Covid-19 virus infection.
02. The deceased was an 81 year old female from Atalugama. She died on 28.11.2020 in her residence. The cause of death was exacerbated high blood pressure, diabetes and increased blood cholesterol due to Covid-19 virus infection.
According to the Worldometer s site that is tracking the global reports of Covid-19, Sri Lanka was the 64th country with the highest daily covid patients reported yesterday.
Sri Lanka has moved up to the 98 position as the country with the highest number of cases reported, during the period with 23, 987 cases.
Sri Lanka has completed 827, 928 PCR tests during the same period.
