305 COVID-19 cases reported from Colombo on Thursday (19) – NOCPCO
Colombo (News 1st); As of Friday (20) morning, a total of 439 people were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.
Among them were one seafarer, one expatriate from India and all the other 437 cases were from locally-identified affectees.
305 of them are from Colombo, 58 from Gampaha and others are from different districts, stated the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).
The total number of COVID-19 positive cases reported from Minuwangoda garment factory employees and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster stands at 15,324.
Of them, 3,059 were from the Minuwangoda cluster and all other 12,265 were from the Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster.
Meanwhile, 9,478 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients from both Minuwangoda and fish market clusters have been discharged from hospitals.
Up to yesterday (19), a total of 18,838 persons have been confirmed COVID-19 positive from all over the country, including the dead.
12,902 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients have been discharged from hospitals and the rest 5,867 are still under treatment in hospitals and care centres.
To-date, 73 COVID-19 positive deaths have been reported.
Around 30,000, identified as 1st contacts and 2nd contacts of COVID-19 affectees are in self quarantine.
As of Monday morning (20), the flight QR 688 from Doha- Qatar with 2 passengers, the flight UL 607 from Australia with 52 passengers and the flight UL 455 from Japan with 12 passengers have arrived in Colombo.
All those passengers were referred to Quarantine Centres (QCs), managed by tri-services upon their arrival after formalities at the airport.
As of Friday morning (20), 3,812 persons in 36 tri service-managed QCs are still in quarantine.
Within yesterday (19), 10,356 PCR tests were carried out.
