Couple Arrested in Wellawa with Rs. 4 Million in Illicit Funds
A couple was arrested in Wellawa, Kurunegala along with Rs. 4 million of illicit funds and a lorry purchased using illicit funds.
During the operation, authorities also seized several items found in the couple's possession including 32 grams of heroin, five gold necklaces, one gold ring and two gold bracelets.
The duo was intercepted yesterday evening while traveling in the lorry from Kurunegala toward Hiripitiya.
A team of officers from the Police Narcotic Bureau (PNB) has been deployed to conduct further investigations into the incident.
