RDA imposes speed limits due to heavy rains.
The Road Development Authority informs the general public to be cautious while driving on highways during heavy rains.
The authority instructs the public to limit the maximum speed to 60 kilometers per hour.
Meanwhile, due to the flooding of many roads during heavy rains, the police are requesting the public to avoid problems that they could face due to the adverse weather conditions.
With the rise in the water levels of the Nilwala River, more than 33,000 people in several Matara District Divisional Secretariats are heavily affected.
