Bound, Gagged, and Left to Die In Manapitiya
The body of a man was discovered in a forested area near the Kotaliya Bridge in Manampitiya.
The victim, identified as a 29-year-old resident of Dalukana, Polonnaruwa, was found with his limbs and mouth tightly bound—an indication of a violent end.
Police confirmed that the deceased was a tipper truck driver.
The grim discovery was made following a complaint lodged by his wife, who reported that her husband had failed to return home.
Acting on the tip-off, authorities launched a search that led to the horrifying find.
Investigations have already identified three suspects believed to be connected to the murder.
Police say efforts are underway to apprehend them as inquiries continue into the motive behind the killing.
