Villages in Kandy faced with a monkey issue (video)

We have reported on various occasions about the damage caused to the farm lands and the lives of the people with the invasion of wild animals.

News has been reported from the Kandy District about a group of villagers suffering from monkeys.

People in many villages including Hataraliyadda, Pallepola and Welikanda belonging to the Kandy Thunpane Pradeshiya Sabha have been affected due to the influx of Monkeys.

The villagers say that these monkeys also catch small animals such as small birds that live around them.

Villagers say that the main reason for the lack of food and water for wildlife is the presence of thousands of acres of alien plants in the Hataraliyadda-Welikanda reserve.

The villagers say that they have informed the authorities about this on several occasions.
