Road Closures for Easter Memorial Procession

To commemorate the sixth anniversary of the Easter Sunday attacks, special services will be held at St. Anthony's Shrine in Kochchikade and St. Lucia's Cathedral in Kotahena. As a result, traffic around these churches will be restricted.

The police have announced that a procession will take place from St. Lucia's Cathedral in Kotahena to St. Anthony's Shrine in Kochchikade, followed by a special service at St. Anthony's Shrine.

The procession will start at 7:00 AM from St. Lucia's Cathedral, proceed through Bonjean Junction, turn left at Galpotta Roundabout, continue through Galpotta Road, and travel via Jampettah Street to reach St. Anthony's Shrine.

Therefore, from 7:00 AM to 11:45 AM, certain roads in the Foreshore police division will be temporarily closed.

The police request the public to use alternative routes to minimize traffic congestion.
