Director of Non-Banking Financial Institutions Supervision Division of Central Bank summoned to appear in court
The Colombo Magistrate's Court on February 11 issued a notice to the Director of the Non-Banking Financial Institutions Supervision Division of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka to appear before the court to present facts on an appeal made by the accused Perpetual Treasuries Ltd.
The order was issued by Colombo Chief Magistrate Mohamed Mihar after considering a motion filed on behalf of Perpetual Treasuries.
The lawyers representing Perpetual Treasuries Ltd stated that their company wanted to obtain money to pay the legal fees and that the company was unable to obtain the money as their bank accounts had been frozen.
Accordingly, the lawyers requested the court to issue an order easing the ban imposed on their accounts in order to obtain the relevant funds.
