Ministry of Health Warns of Accident Risks During Festive Season
The Non-Communicable Diseases Unit of the Ministry of Health is urging the public to take extra precautions to prevent accidents during the festive season.
Consultant Community Physician Samitha Sirithunga revealed that annually, between 28,000 and 30,000 individuals are hospitalized due to accidents during the New Year week.
He further said that these incidents result in the loss of 75 to 100 lives each year.
