Customs seize turmeric worth Rs 19M imported from Dubai
Customs have seized four containers containing turmeric worth around Rs. 19 million imported from Dubai by a businessman in Pettah under the ruse of importing big onions
Customs Spokesperson Sunil Jayaratne told the Hiru News team that the consignment of turmeric weighing more than 25,000 kilograms was being confiscated.
Meanwhile, a suspect was arrested with another 700 kilograms of turmeric which was being transported by sea from India.
It was during a joint operation conducted by the Police and the STF in the Kochchikade area in Negombo.
