Boossa Prison Inmate Found Dead: Investigation Underway
An investigation has been initiated into the death of an inmate at the Boossa High-Security Prison.
According to Prison Spokesman Gamini B. Dissanayake, the inmate was found injured and collapsed inside the prison early this morning (4).
The inmate was subsequently admitted to the prison hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The deceased, aged 46, had been held in remand custody in connection with a heroin possession case.
The prison authorities are currently recording statements from other inmates regarding the incident, as part of the ongoing investigation.
