Canadian Woman Arrested at Katunayake Airport with Hashish
- A 36-year-old Canadian woman was arrested at Bandaranaike International Airport for attempting to smuggle 36 kilograms and 152 grams of hashish into the country.
The Customs Narcotics Control Unit at the airport confirmed that she had arrived from Toronto, Canada, via Abu Dhabi.
The drugs were found concealed in her luggage.
She was apprehended based on an international intelligence tip-off.
