CEB to Announce Decision on Continuation of Power Cuts

The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) says that the decision regarding whether to continue with scheduled power cuts will be announced this morning.

Media spokesperson of the CEB, Dhammika Wimalaratne said that steps will be taken to manage power cuts in a way that does not cause disrupt the lives of the general public.

The 3 generators at the Norochcholai coal power plant have not yet been restored to normalcy.

A total of 900 MW is added to the national grid through this power plant.

Currently, hydroelectric power generation is at a level of 30%.

The Ceylon Electricity Board said that steps are being taken to ensure electricity supply by managing the existing water resources.
