The Police Headquarters has issued a special circular regarding the issuance of curfew permits.

Employees of 84 state corporations, statutory boards, media and other institutions have been permitted to use their official identity cards as curfew passes, Police Media Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said.

The Police Media Spokesman pointed out that the issuance of this circular was due to the fact that in spite of the extension of the curfew, the maintenance of public corporations, statutory boards, mass media outlets and other institutions is essential for the management of the public.

If these permit holders are in an infected area, the head of the company should not bring in the employees, the police spokesperson also said. Instead of bringing all the employees on the same day, the company should take action to roster the employees for specific days, the police spokesman also said. However, the Police Media Spokesman stated that the workplace Identity Card can only be used for employment purposes and that it should never be used for personal matters.
