Excise Department Issues Final Notices on Tax Arrears to Liquor Manufacturers
The Department of Excise has issued final notices to liqour manufacturers for unpaid taxes.
According to the department, the outstanding dues must be settled by November 30.
Nearly 10 companies are currently in arrears, with a total amount of Rs. 8.5 billion expected to be paid.
The arrears for the 2023-2024 period alone amount to approximately Rs. 1.8 billion.
The Department of Excise has warned of legal action to be taken against companies that fail to make payment by November 30
