Weather Alert: Strong Winds Expected
The Meteorology Department has issued a weather alert indicating the likelihood of showers or thundershowers occurring at various times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North-western provinces, as well as in the Galle and Matara districts.
Additionally, showers or thundershowers may occur in other areas of the island during the evening or night.
The department has also warned of strong winds reaching approximately 40 km/h in the Northern, North-central, and North-western provinces, and in the Trincomalee and Hambantota districts.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
