Four Lives Lost in Multiple Road Accidents Across the Island
Four people have died in road accidents across various parts of the island, during the past 24 hours.
A 67-year-old man died after he was hit by a jeep in Pannipitiya.
The man was hit by the vehicle while he was on the pedestrian crossing.
The driver of the jeep has been arrested and is due to be produced in court.
A 23-year-old man died in a road accident in Tulhiriya.
The motorcycle the victim was traveling on had collided with a lorry.
A 32-year-old woman died after she was hit by a bus along the Talduwa Ratnapura road. She was a resident of Avissawella.
Additionally, an 18-year-old dies in a motorcycle accident on Madampella Road.
Police report that the accident occurred when he had lost control of his bike and crashed into a hill.
