EC Calls Out 34 Presidential Candidates Yet to Submit Expenditure Reports

The National Election Commission has disclosed that 34 candidates in this year's presidential election are yet to submit their campaign expenditure reports.

Out of 38 candidates who contested the election, only four complied with the regulations set forth by the commission.

The candidates who submitted their expenditure reports include former minister and presidential candidate Dr. Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe from the National Democratic Front, Mahinda Devage representing the Socialist Party of Sri Lanka, independent candidate Pemasiri Manage, and K. Ananda Kulathilake.

The commission had mandated that all candidates submit their financial disclosures by October 13, in accordance with the law regulating election expenses.

Those who did not adhere to this requirement will face legal repercussions, as emphasized by the commission.
