Election Commission to Declare Pres Poll Before End-July
The Election Commission is scheduled to declare the Presidential Election in Sri Lanka by the end of July 2024, said Chairman of the Election Commission R. M. L. Ratnayake
Speaking to reporters, he emphasized the meticulous planning required in setting the date for the upcoming Presidential Election in Sri Lanka.
He highlighted the need to allocate ample time for the election propaganda period for candidates, the administrative processes, including postal voting and ballot counting, and ensuring a convenient election day for all voters across the country.
As such, Ratnayake announced that the Election Commission is scheduled to declare the Presidential Election in Sri Lanka by the end of July 2024.
The official notice, to be issued on that date, will specify the dates for the submission of candidate nominations and the election itself.
