WATCH: “Don’t do uncivilised politics” Dilith tells unnamed Opposition MP over Rapid Covid Test kit row
Sri Lankan businessman Dilith Jayaweera has called on some politicians to refrain from creating unnecessary issues with regard to the rapid antigen test kits that were imported to Sri Lanka recently.
Jayaweera’s George Steuart Health company is reported to have imported the stock of test kits to help combat the latest coronavirus outbreak in the country.
George Steuart Health had been accused by the Opposition for bypassing normal tender procedures to import the test kits.
In a statement issued recently, George Steuart headed by business leader Dilith Jayaweera said that all procedures were followed to import antigen rapid test kits to Sri Lanka.
Claiming that a particular politician along with his peers was attempting to create unnecessary issues with regard to the rapid antigen test kits, Jayaweera called on the group to refrain from behaving in an uncivilized manner.
