Sri Lankan Fishermen Rescued by Singaporean Ship

The two remaining fishermen who are critically ill out of the six fishermen on the multi-day fishing trawler “Devon 5” were rescued by a Singaporean vessel.

Navy Spokesperson Captain Gayan Wickramasuriya said that they will be brought back ashore by a Singaporean vessel, for medical attention.

The multi-day fishing trawler “Devon 5” set sail from the Tangalle harbour on June 4.

In the trawler were six fishermen out of which four fishermen died after consuming an unknown liquid from a bottle adrift at sea.
