Fairly heavy showers expected in parts of the island
The Meteorology Department says showers will occur at times in Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-western provinces and in Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, Galle and Matara districts.
Fairly heavy showers of about 75mm are likely at some places in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya and Puttalam districts.
Several spells of light showers will occur in Northern province and in Matale and Anuradhapura districts.
Strong winds of about 40-50 kmph can be expected at times over the Western slopes of the central hills, Northern, North-central and North-western provinces and in Trincomalee, Hambantota and Monaragala districts.
