Dengue on the rise in seven districts

Health units said the spread of dengue has increased in seven districts.

Accordingly, dengue cases have risen in the Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, Jaffna, Galle, Kandy, and Kurunegala districts.

Dr. Lahiru Kodithuwakku of the National Dengue Control Unit requested the public to keep their surroundings clean, to prevent the spread of dengue.

26,084 dengue patients have been reported in Sri Lanka so far this year.

The highest number of patients, 9,558, were reported from the Western Province.

Nine people have died due to dengue in Sri Lanka this year.
