14-Day Food Pack for families placed in home-quarantine
COVID-19 is spreading faster than it did earlier this year, said Army Commander Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva on Wednesday (28).
The General Public must restrict their movement and comply with all the health guidelines in order to prevent the spread of the corona-virus, urged the Head of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).
For those who are placed in home quarantine, the Government will be providing a food pack to last 14 days, said the Army Commander.
However, this will only apply to those who have been instructed to self-quarantine by the MOH, PHI, and Sri Lanka Police said Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva.
Further, he said the general public must not engage in panic-buying ahead of the Quarantine Curfew which will come into effect from midnight on Thursday (29).
A quarantine curfew will be imposed in the Western province from 12:00 midnight on Thursday (29) until 5.00 am on Monday, the 2nd November upon the recommendation of the Director-General of Health Services.
The curfew will be lifted at 5.00 Am on the 2nd November with regard to areas where no curfew has been imposed at the time of issuing the said notice.
In areas where curfew is currently in effect, the curfew will continue even after 5.00 am on Monday, November 2nd.
As the curfew has been imposed in the Western Province on Friday, essential food outlets and pharmacies in the areas where curfew is in effect should be open from 8.00 am to 10.00 pm on Thursday (29).
After the 02nd of November, essential food outlets and pharmacies in the areas where curfew is in effect will be open two days as previously announced.
