Railway operations along coastal line disrupted
There have been further disruptions to railway operations along the coastal line.
The disruptions were reported due to a train derailment between Kompannavidiya and the Colombo Fort railway stations.
Railway Traffic Superintendent N.J. Indipolage said efforts are being taken to rerail the train, and measures were taken to open one line for railway operations.
Indipolage however added that a signal error was also reported along with the derailment.
He said several trains plying from Colombo to Kalutara and Panadura were canceled on Wednesday (20) morning, due to the current situation.
