Mahaweli Region Gears Up for Yala Season with March 20th Water Release
The Mahaweli Authority has announced the commencement of water release to the Mahaweli region for the Yala season, starting March 20th.
This water release will continue through July to support agricultural activities.
Meanwhile, the Irrigation Department assures farmers of sufficient water for the spring season, with over 258 tanks under their management exceeding 90% capacity as confirmed by Wimal Rathnasiri, Director of the Mahaweli Authority's Water Management Unit.
