Aswesuma payment for September starts this week.
Sri Lanka's State Finance Minister Shehan Semasinghe said that the September installments of the Aswesuma programme, will be made from Thursday (23).
He said that Rs.8,571 million to be paid to 1,377,000 beneficiary families were released to the banks.
The State Minister added that the payments for October, November and December will be paid to the beneficiaries before the end of the year
New applications for the Aswesuma program will be called to select beneficiaries, in December.
He further said that the arrears in the allowances for the elderly, kidney patients, and the physically challenged have been paid.
