Viral eye infection spreading among school children -PHIs.
Health authorities have requested parents and education officials to adhere to health and safety measures to control the spread of a viral eye infection among children.
Chairman of the Public Health Inspector's Union of Sri Lanka Upul Rohana said the eye disease is spreading among school students in some areas, like an epidemic.
The common symptoms include redness of eyes, tears and discharge and inflammation of the eyes.
Upul Rohana requested parents to refrain from sending children to school if they have these symptoms.
