4,000 new graduate teachers to be recruited - WP Governor.
Governor Roshan Goonetileke said plans are in place to recruit 4,000 new graduate teachers across schools in the Western Province.
Currently, there are about 4000 vacancies in the Western Province alone.
Roshan Goonetileke said that several concerns were raised due to the shortage of teachers for subjects including English and Tamil.
