Sri Lankan professionals on Monday (4) warned the government that if it does not keep its promises, strict trade union action will be taken.

The Federation of University Teachers' Associations stressed that the President should act according to the written assurance he gave in the month of March.

Senior Lecturer Charudaththe Illangasinghe, the Spokesperson for the Federation of University Teachers' Associations, said that in March 2023, President Wickremesinghe assured that the tax system would be amended in June, however, that has not taken place.
