Dengue cases on the rise in several areas.
The National Dengue Control Unit said there is an increase in the number of dengue cases reported in the Western province and the Kandy, Kurunegala, Galle and Kegalle districts.
Director Dr. Nalin Ariyarathne said he advised district authorities to take appropriate measures as the number of dengue cases may increase due to the rainy weather conditions.
The Director of the National Dengue Control Unit said a discussion will be held tomorrow regarding the dengue eradication program in the Western Province, headed by the Governor of the Western Province.
He said measures taken during the Dengue Prevention Week, which was implemented from the 26th of April to the 3rd of May, will be reviewed during the discussion.
18 people have died due to dengue so far this year.
