Four persons have been killed in tragic motorcycle accidents in several areas yesterday.

The accidents were reported from Balangoda, Elpitiya and Welipennagahamula.

Balangoda 17 year old killed
A motorcycle collided with a three wheeler coming from the opposite direction in the Ratmalwinna area in Balangoda last evening.

The motorcyclist who was seriously injured died on admission to the Balangoda Hospital.

He was a 17 year old residing in Pinnawala area.

The body has been placed at the Balangoda Hospital and the driver of the three wheeler has been arrested by the police in connection with the accident.

Welipennagahamula 13 year old killed 
Meanwhile an accident took place near the Kumbukgahamulla junction on the Nattandiya Welipennagahamula road last night.

A 13-year-old motorcyclist was killed when his motorcycle collided with a van coming from the opposite direction.

He was a resident of the Welipennagahamula area and his body has been placed at the Dunakadeniya Hospital.

The driver of the van has been arrested, police said.

Elpitiya 
A motorcycle collided with a lorry coming from the opposite direction near the Kandagaha junction on the Elpitiya Mapalagama road last evening.

The motorcyclist and the pillion who were seriously injured in the accident died on admission to the Elpitiya Hospital.

The deceased have been identified as 30 and 35 year old residents of Elpitiya.

The driver of the lorry has been arrested and the Elpitiya Police are conducting investigations.
