Advice to give relief to bus owners

Transport Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi has instructed the National Transport Commission to provide all possible relief to bus owners to resume private bus services, which have been inactive due to the COVID pandemic.

This was stated by the Transport Minister after a discussion held today (28) at the Ministry of Transport with private bus owners.

During the discussion, the representatives of the Private Bus Owners' Association requested that a concession period be provided for the payment of route permit fees and the payment of lease loan installments.

The Transport Minister has instructed the authorities to take legal action against buses operating without route permits in the name of office services.
