Environmental activists point out that the X-Press Pearl vessel that sank near the Colombo Port poses a serious threat to the country's marine ecosystem
Commenting on this, Hemantha Vithanage, Senior Adviser, Center for Environmental Justice, said that compensation for the damage caused by the ship and the removal of the waste was not properly managed.
Meanwhile, environmental organizations and fishermen had organized a protest at the Sarakkuwa beach in Negombo yesterday.
