Maradana gang assault captured on CCTV, five arrested
An individual has been assaulted by eight others in the Maradana Police Division.
The incident had occurred on the 10th of April,and had been captured on a nearby CCTV camera.
Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said five out of the eight suspects have been arrested.
He said the suspects will be produced in court today for an identification parade and will thereafter will be remanded.
A special Police team has been deployed to arrest the remaining three suspects.
DIG Ajith Rohana said investigations will be launched to determine if the suspects are connected to a group involved in organized crime or if they had acted on the instructions of another individual.
