CCTV : Police release footage of fake Rs 2 million robbery staged
While investigating into a complaint made by an Executive Officer of a Private Company on an alleged robbery of Rs 2.3 million belonging to the company, the Heyyanthuduwa Police has found out that it was in fact staged.
The complainant had spent the funds of the company for his personal needs, and then feigned a robbery, in order to cover up his offense.
The suspect had misdirected the Police, stating that he was robbed by two persons who came on a motorbike while he was on his way to deposit the monies in the bank.
