285 inmates to be released for Sri Lanka's 77th Independence Day
285 inmates detained at prisons across the island will be released on Tuesday (Feb. 04) in view of the 77th Independence Day of Sri Lanka.
Prisons Spokesperson Gamini B. Dissanayake says that 279 inmates are male.
Meanwhile, visitors will be granted a special opportunity to visit prison inmates today.
They will be permitted to take food and sanitation items sufficient for one inmate during the visit.
