Daily COVID infections in India reach 40,000
In the last 24 hours ending this morning, nearly 40,000 new coronavirus infections were reported from India.
According to the Indian Ministry of Health, the total number of COVID infections in the country has risen to 15,14,331 with 39,726 new cases reported.
This is the highest number of daily infections reported from India since November 29.
The total number of COVID deaths in India rose to 159,370 with the 154 corona deaths reported yesterday.
The highest number of new cases of over 25,000 has been reported from Maharashtra
